Within New Zealand, we use Qualmark® ratings. Qualmark® is New Zealand tourism's official mark of quality that incorporates Qualmark Green, an integrated assessment of a product's environmental performance. Qualmark® is an internationally recognised rating system for products in New Zealand and is endorsed by Air New Zealand and Tourism New Zealand.

Outside of New Zealand, there is no universal industry standard on hotel ratings so we take an objective approach in our own Air New Zealand Holidays ratings. In rating each hotel, we consider a wide range of factors, including independent industry ratings, media recognition, customer feedback and personal evaluations by the Air New Zealand Holidays team.

These ratings we use represent the quality of accommodations and service at each hotel and help you compare different properties at the same destination. Please note that ratings will differ from country to country, and our rating guides may differ from other rating systems.
